The Brief
Elegant Resorts is a long-established luxury tour operator specialising in bespoke, high-end travel experiences worldwide. Following nearly a decade as their in-house senior designer, I returned on a freelance basis to support production of their flagship brochures, magazine-style mailers and a dedicated One&Only Resorts booklet.
The design brief was consistent with Elegant Resorts' established brand standards: editorial layouts that felt aspirational yet approachable, with photography and typography doing the heavy lifting to communicate destination appeal and service quality.
The Approach
Building on years of familiarity with the brand's visual language, I focused on layout refinement, typographic hierarchy and print production—ensuring consistency across multiple publications while allowing each piece its own editorial character. The One&Only booklet required a distinct feel that honoured both the resort brand and Elegant Resorts' voice, balancing partner guidelines with internal standards..
Magazine mailers needed to work harder in a direct-mail context—compelling covers, clear calls to action and pacing that rewarded casual browsing while driving enquiries. All materials were prepared to exacting print specifications, maintaining colour accuracy and image quality across premium stock and finishes.
The Outcome
The brochures and marketing materials supported Elegant Resorts' positioning in the competitive luxury travel sector, providing their sales team and clients with polished, desirable collateral that reflected the quality of the experiences on offer. Familiarity with the brand, its audience and production requirements allowed for efficient turnaround without compromising design integrity.
