Burren Explorer Travel Guide
One of Ireland's most unusual and intriguing landscapes is found in the Burren, County Clare. In a country famed for its green fields, the Burren seemingly barren limestone landscape stands out considerably. The Burren in County Clare is internationally famous for the geology that formed the landscape, its long history of human settlement, traditional farming methods, and impressive floral and animal diversity. Within the Burren lies the Burren National Park. Here you are likely to discover some fantastic hiking routes in the area and this travel book was to provide a complete guide to the Burren area.
Project Description: Burren Travel Guide, Ireland.
Client's Goal for the Project:
The client, Burren Council Ireland, aimed to create a comprehensive local travel guide highlighting walking trails and attractions in and around the Burren region. The goal was to provide visitors with an informative and engaging resource to enhance their experience in the area.
Contribution to the Project:
Ultra Design Agency in Ireland contracted me to assist as a freelance designer for this project. I played a key role in assisting the Design Director of Ultra Design Agency, in the creation of the Burren Travel Guide, contributing to the layout, typesetting, and visual elements of the 160-page guide. I also produced many of the map trail illustrations for use in the guide.
Summary of the Project's Success:
The project achieved success by delivering a well-designed and visually captivating travel guide. The guide effectively met the client's goal of providing a comprehensive resource for visitors, enhancing their exploration of walking trails and attractions in the Burren, whilst showcasing the local's contributions to their local villages and the conservation work that the area upholds.
